Product Details

Durastone is Prestige’s proprietary hard non-stick coating noticeably harder and more scratch-resistant than a standard non-stick surface, which matters for Indian cooking styles that involve a lot of scraping and spatula contact. It sits on a hard-anodised aluminium base that heats quickly and evenly, which is exactly what a flat tawa needs for spreading dosa batter uniformly or getting rotis to puff evenly.

The flat design works for both dosas and rotis, so it replaces the need for two separate vessels, and it’s backed by Prestige’s wide network of spares and customer service across India.

See the rest of our Tawa collection, or head back to the Vistaya homepage for the full catalogue.

Features

Durastone Hard Non-Stick Coating Harder and more scratch-resistant than conventional non-stick, built for daily Indian cooking.
Hard Anodised Aluminium Base Electrochemically treated to be twice as hard as stainless steel durable and scratch-resistant.
Flat Cooking Surface A level surface for even heat contact, ideal for both spreading dosas and puffing rotis.
PFOA-Free Coating Free of harmful chemicals, safe for daily family cooking.
Quick, Even Heating Hard-anodised aluminium heats faster and more evenly than standard aluminium.
Dual Purpose Tawa Works equally well for dosas and rotis, eliminating the need for two separate flat vessels.

Size & Material

Available sizes: 28cm, 30cm

Material: Hard anodised aluminium with Durastone hard non-stick coating

Care Instructions

Hand wash with warm water and a soft sponge after every use the Durastone coating is durable but benefits from gentle hand washing over dishwasher cycles.
Let the tawa cool to room temperature before washing, since thermal shock can affect the hard-anodised surface over time.
Use wooden or silicone spatulas as a habit for maximum coating longevity, even though Durastone tolerates more contact than standard non-stick.
Never heat the tawa empty on high flame, always add oil or food before heating, even with the tougher coating.
Rub a light coat of cooking oil over the surface every week or two to keep it conditioned.
Dry it immediately after washing to prevent surface spots on the hard-anodised exterior.

The 30cm Prestige Durastone tawa has transformed my breakfast routine. Larger dosas cook evenly from edge to centre. The coating is genuinely tough and I use it daily without any signs of wear.

My previous cheap non-stick tawa warped within three months. The Prestige Durastone hard anodised base is completely different no warping after five months of daily use. The Durastone coating is good quality and the heat distribution is excellent. I make dosas every morning and rotis every evening and both come out well. The Prestige brand means I can easily find a replacement or spares locally which is important to me. Very satisfied.

This is the best tawa I have owned. The Durastone coating is noticeably more robust than standard non-stick and dosas release perfectly every time. The hard anodised body looks and feels premium.

Good quality tawa with an excellent non-stick surface. The 28cm size fits my gas stove well and the hard anodised body feels very durable. Dosas brown evenly and come off cleanly every time.

The 30cm Durastone tawa is the one product my kitchen was genuinely missing. Larger dosas, perfectly browned, zero sticking. The Durastone coating is holding up beautifully even with daily use.

Dosas slide off this tawa like magic. The Durastone coating is genuinely different from regular non-stick — it feels tougher and has shown no wear even after months of use. Prestige has done it again.

Prestige Durastone tawa dekh ke lagta tha premium hoga par use karne pe pata chala genuinely kuch alag hai. Dosa bilkul stick nahi karta aur hard anodised body se scratches bhi nahi aate. Perfect!

I have been using Prestige cookware for 15 years and the Durastone tawa is one of their best products. The coating is noticeably harder than my old non-stick tawa I can feel the difference when cleaning and in how it handles spatula contact. Dosas come out crispy and evenly cooked. Rotis puff well on the flat surface. The hard anodised base is solid and the tawa heats up quickly. Prestige never disappoints and this is one of their better tawa options.

I bought the Prestige Durastone specifically because I was tired of standard non-stick coatings wearing out in six months. The Durastone coating is clearly more robust five months of daily use and no visible wear. The tawa heats evenly and the dosas and rotis both come out consistently good. The flat surface is the right choice for both tasks. Prestige quality and wide availability of the brand makes it a very practical purchase for any Indian household.
