Product Details

Hi-Tech is a brand that Indian cookware enthusiasts have been discovering in recent years and the Giro Tri-Ply Dosa Tawa is one of their most talked-about products, a serious triply stainless steel dosa tawa that brings professional-grade heat distribution to everyday South Indian cooking.

Built with a genuine three-layer triply construction food-grade stainless steel interior, aluminium core, and stainless steel exterior the Giro gives you the kind of even, consistent heat across its entire dosa surface that only triply cookware can deliver.
At a generous diameter designed specifically for dosa making, this is a tawa that understands the difference between a dosa spread and a roti the surface area is sized for thin, large dosas that need wide, even heat from a proper dosa tawa.
The stainless steel cooking surface is completely uncoated no non-stick coating, no ceramic layer which means it requires proper preheating and seasoning technique but rewards that technique with a surface that improves with time and never degrades.
Induction, gas, and electric compatible the stainless steel exterior and triply base make it naturally compatible with all cooking setups without any adaptor.
Hi-Tech positions the Giro as a long-term investment piece triply stainless steel construction at this quality level is not inexpensive but it is the kind of cookware that you buy once and use for decades.

If you are ready to invest in a proper triply stainless steel dosa tawa and are willing to master the technique of cooking on an uncoated surface, the Hi-Tech Giro delivers dosa results that few other tawas can match.

Care Instructions

An uncoated triply stainless steel dosa tawa requires a different care and cooking approach than any other tawa on this list master these habits and the Hi-Tech Giro will reward you with excellent dosas for decades.

Proper Preheating is Essential Heat the tawa on medium flame for three to four minutes before adding oil. Properly preheated stainless steel releases food far better than insufficiently heated stainless steel.
Season the Surface Regularly Heat the tawa, add a generous layer of oil, heat until smoking, pour away excess oil, and wipe with a cloth. Repeat before your first dosa session for the best release.
Use the Right Amount of Oil Stainless steel requires more oil than non-stick for dosa making use enough to coat the entire surface lightly before each dosa, not just a token brushing.
Traditional Onion Seasoning Works Best Before a dosa session, rub the hot tawa with half an onion dipped in oil using tongs this is the most effective way to condition a stainless steel dosa tawa and the method used in professional South Indian kitchens.
Wash with Soap Normally Unlike cast iron, stainless steel is fully soap-compatible. Wash with mild dish soap and a sponge after every use thorough cleaning is good for an uncoated surface.
Use Bar Keepers Friend for Stubborn Marks If dosa batter stains or burns onto the surface, Bar Keepers Friend or a paste of baking soda and water removes it effectively without damaging the stainless steel.
Vinegar for Discolouration Heat-induced discolouration on stainless steel is normal and harmless a brief simmer with diluted white vinegar removes it and restores the surface appearance.
Dry and Store Clean Dry after washing and store in a dry location a clean, dry uncoated stainless steel surface needs no special storage treatment beyond keeping it away from moisture.
