Product Details

The 30cm two-side-handle version of Meyer’s cast iron flat tawa is for serious dosa makers large enough for full restaurant-sized thin dosas, safe enough to handle confidently with two handles, and built with the Meyer quality that Indian kitchens have relied on for decades.

At 30cm this is the largest flat tawa in Meyer’s cast iron range a full professional dosa surface that lets you spread batter in a wide circular motion and make large, thin dosas the way they are made in South Indian homes and restaurants.
The two side handles are specifically chosen for this larger, heavier size distributing the weight across both hands and making it far safer to lift, position, and manoeuvre during a dosa session than a single handle would be at this scale.
Pre-seasoned with 100% vegetable oil at the factory, it is ready to use immediately no waiting, no complex initial preparation, just a quick wash and you are making dosas on your first day.
Cast iron at this size retains heat with extraordinary steadiness once you bring a 30cm cast iron tawa up to temperature, it stays there consistently through an entire family’s dosa breakfast without needing constant heat adjustment.
No synthetic coatings whatsoever Meyer cast iron is pure, food-grade cast iron with natural vegetable oil seasoning as clean and chemical-free as cooking can get.

For large South Indian households, serious home dosa makers, or anyone who has outgrown a smaller dosa tawa, the Meyer 30cm Two-Handle is the definitive cast iron flat tawa.

Care Instructions

A 30cm cast iron tawa requires the same care routine as any cast iron but the larger size means each step takes a few extra seconds, so building the routine into your post-cooking habits is particularly important.

Brush Both Ways on the Flat Surface Use a stiff brush in both vertical and horizontal strokes on the flat surface to clean any batter residue from the entire 30cm area do not just clean the centre.
Full Flame Dry After Every Rinse A 30cm cast iron tawa holds more surface water than smaller pieces. Place on medium flame for three to four minutes after rinsing to ensure all moisture has evaporated.
Oil the Entire Surface After Drying With a paper towel and a small amount of oil, cover the entire 30cm cooking surface, both handles, and the underside. A complete oiling after every use is the single most important cast iron habit.
Always Use Both Handles with Mitts At 30cm and cast iron weight, always use both hands with thick dry cloths or oven mitts over both handles. This is a safety imperative not an option.
Deep Season Once a Month Apply a thin layer of oil to the entire tawa including the underside and heat on the stove until it smokes lightly, then let it cool completely before storing. Monthly deep seasoning keeps the 30cm surface in excellent condition.
Never Leave Water on the Surface The 30cm flat surface has more area to collect water after washing use a dry cloth to wipe the entire surface before stove-drying to remove as much surface water as possible first.
Store on a Flat, Dry Surface The 30cm tawa is too large to hang on most standard kitchen racks. Store flat on a dry shelf with a paper towel underneath to absorb any storage-area moisture.
Treat Rust as Routine Maintenance Any rust that appears on cast iron this size is normal and fully reversible. Scrub, soap wash once, stove dry thoroughly, and re-oil. The tawa will cook perfectly again.

Very good large cast iron dosa tawa from a trusted brand. The 30cm size is genuinely very large and I recommend measuring your stove and storage space before ordering to make sure it fits your setup. For anyone with a large household and proper storage it is the right choice. The Meyer pre-seasoning is decent and the surface gets better with every use. The two handles are essential at this size single handle would not be safe for a 30cm cast iron piece. Good quality and good long-term investment.

I make dosas the professional way large, thin, and crispy. My old non-stick 28cm tawa was not cutting it because it lost temperature when I spread the batter. The Meyer 30cm cast iron changes everything. The heat stability means I can make thin dosas at the same consistency throughout a long session. The two handles are a genuine safety feature at this size. Pre-seasoning from Meyer is good and the surface has only improved with use. Worth every rupee.

I have a family of eight and dosa is our breakfast four days a week. I needed a serious large tawa and the Meyer 30cm is exactly that. The two handles make it safe to use even when the tawa is very hot and completely full of dosa. The cast iron heat retention means the last dosa is as good as the first temperature stays very steady. Three months of heavy daily use and the surface is seasoning beautifully. Meyer has never let me down.
